[Venat lifts a finger in his direction.] But you do gain from it. Satisfaction. A sense of purpose, a reason to keep going against your own troubles, and a feeling of meaningful accomplishment when you do help. I guess here, so pray forgive if I go astray, but I daresay that it provides you with a feeling of control, or perhaps, as if you are battling back against the suffering that we all must face? Perhaps compare yourself to a healer, who does with physical wounds what you do with mental ones -- are they not often driven by a desire to stand steadfast in the face of suffering, and oppose it with all their might?

[Venat does not have all the answers. But most firmly, and most assuredly, she has her answer.]
